This Privacy Policy explains the documented ways If These Books Could Talk collects and manages personal information. It covers newsletter signup forms and messages sent to the publication. It does not attempt to describe services or systems for which information has not been provided.
Newsletter signup information
When a signup form is presented, it invites readers to “Join the If These Books Could Talk list for future articles and reading suggestions.” The form asks for an email address and explicit agreement to: “I agree to receive email updates from If These Books Could Talk.”
A completed signup stores the email address, a hash used to identify duplicate submissions, the signup time, the source page path without its query or fragment, the consent wording accepted at signup, and the collection status. These records are stored in the site’s WordPress database.
Signup records remain until they are removed or an erasure request is processed. Authorized administrators can view, export, and remove these records. Newsletter records are also included in WordPress personal-data export and erasure processes.
Email delivery and unsubscribe features
The signup form enables collection for possible future updates. It does not by itself mean that an active mailing service is operating. Email delivery, confirmation, and unsubscribe features require separate configuration, so this site does not promise a sending schedule.
Anti-spam records
The signup system creates temporary rate-limiting records to reduce spam and repeated submissions. These records use hashed network identifiers and are subject to periodic cleanup. This does not mean that hosting systems or other infrastructure never record IP addresses.
Contact messages
If you email contact@ifthesebookscouldtalk.com, your message includes the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address, message text, and any attachments you send. Please avoid including sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
Access, export, and removal requests
You may ask to access or remove a newsletter signup record by emailing contact@ifthesebookscouldtalk.com. Include the email address used for the signup so the relevant record can be identified. Newsletter records can be included in WordPress personal-data export and erasure requests.
Your choices
Providing an email address through a signup form is optional. You may choose not to submit the form, and you may request removal of a submitted signup record. You also control what information and attachments you include when contacting the publication.
Links to other websites
Articles may link to websites operated by other parties. Those sites maintain their own privacy information and practices. Review their policies before providing personal information to them.
